Great American Bash WCW NWA PPV

On this day in Pro Wrestling history on July 12, 1992, WCW aired ‘The Great American Bash 1992’ live on PPV from the Albany Civic Center in Albany, Georgia.

This is actually a PPV that hardly ever gets mentioned at all by anyone, not on WWE DVDs/Blu-Rays and not by Old School Wrestling Fans either – which is funny, because the event actually wasn’t bad at all.

The PPV is known for 2 major things, Sting losing the WCW World Title, which he won from Luger at SuperBrawl II, in a battle against Monster-Heel Big Van Vader, as well as the quarter finals, semi-finals and final match of the tournament for the NWA World Tag Team Titles. A tournament very similar to the WWF’s new 1993 King of the Ring concept, only with Tag Teams instead of singles wrestlers.
