Dean Ambrose In-Line For Another United States Title Run?

As we noted before, current WWE United States Champion John Cena will take time off from WWE after this Sunday’s Hell in a Cell 2015.

WWE announced on this week’s Raw that John Cena will issue a US Title Open Challenge at Hell in a Cell PPV.

There’s been a lot of speculation on who could challenge John Cena this Sunday. At one point, it was being rumored that NXT Superstar Tyler Breeze would make his debut at the PPV and challenge Cena for the title. However, that doesn’t look the case as Breeze made his main roster debut at last night’s SmackDown tapings and began a feud with Dolph Ziggler. Also, WWE wants to keep the US Title with a Top Babyface Superstar.

This top babyface Superstar could turn out to be the former United States Champion, Dean Ambrose. It should be noted that Ambrose was scheduled to compete in a tag team match at Hell in a Cell 2015, where he would team up with Randy Orton to face the team of Luke Harper & Braun Strowman. But with Orton getting injured (it’s a legitimate injury, click here to know more), that match has been cancelled and Ambrose has no match at the PPV.

This could be the perfect time for WWE to pick up the ball they previously dropped with Ambrose after the Shield split. However, there could be a possibility that Cena doesn’t drop the US Title at Hell in a Cell, instead he drops it the next night on Raw, as a lot of fans are expecting a new champion at Hell in a Cell and WWE might wanna surprise the fans a little bit.
