Former WWE and Universal Champion Bray Wyatt unfortunately passed away at the age of 36 on Thursday.

He caught COVID-19 earlier this year which exacerbated heart issues. He was recovering from it for the past several months, but unfortunately, he suffered a sudden heart attack and passed away due to it.

Wyatt’s sudden death left everyone in a shock as most people were expecting him to be back in action soon after reports about him actively recovering from his illness had surfaced online.

WWE announced that all the proceeds from Wyatt’s merchandise sales on WWE Shop will be donated to his fiancee JoJo Offerman and his children.

Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champion Sami Zayn posted the following about Wyatt’s passing:

“I have a hard time accepting death. Denial is strong. I am just shocked and I really can’t believe it. RIP Windham Rotunda, I’m grateful to have shared some good times with you.”

Current AEW star Chris Jericho wrote the following about Bray:

“From the moment I first met Windham Rotunda, I knew he was special. A true visionary, his unique ideas spilled from a never-ending creative stream that ran through his brain constantly.

We worked each other all over the world and I literally trusted him with my life many times. I always enjoyed talking with him as he was always a step ahead of most.

And I enjoyed trying to guess where his stories were going before his big reveals. Thanks big man, for always keeping me safe in the ring… and for being my friend outside of it.”

At WWE SummerSlam 2014, Wyatt defeated Jericho.
