Drew McIntyre returned to WWE programming at the recent Money In The Bank 2023 premium live event in London, England.
He went right after Intercontinental Champion Gunther and took him out with a Claymore Kick.
On this week’s RAW, he teamed up with Matt Riddle and defeated Imperium’s Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci.
Word going on is that McIntyre will challenge Gunther for the Intercontinental Title at SummerSlam 2023 on August 5th.
However, McIntyre won’t appear on next week’s RAW (on the Road to SummerSlam), because he’ll be busy shooting a movie.
According to PWInsider, The Scottish Warrior will star alongside WWE Legend Batista (Dave Bautista) and Ice Cube in an upcoming action movie titled “The Killer’s Game”.
Deadline provided the following synopsis for this movie:
“Based on Jay Bonansinga’s novel, the film is written by Rand Ravich and Simon Kinberg, with recent rewrites by James Coyne.
The film follows veteran assassin Joe Flood (Bautista), who is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness and authorizes a kill on himself to avoid the pain that is destined to follow.
After ordering the kill, he finds out that he was misdiagnosed and must then fend off the army of former colleagues trying to kill him.”
