Below are a couple of top news stories of the day, featuring ECW, Chelsea Green and TNA.
• Robin Hunt, known to wrestling fans as Hunter Q. Robbins III, has sadly passed away at the age of 57.
Robbins made a significant impact as a manager in ECW, particularly managing Sabu during his debut and overseeing several tag teams like The Super Destroyers and The Suicide Blonds during their reigns as ECW World Tag Team Champions.
While primarily a manager, Robbins occasionally wrestled, teaming with Jimmy Snuka against Tod Gordon and Davey Boy Smith, and competing in a Battle Royal at ECW UltraClash 1993.
Beyond wrestling, Robbins found success in filmmaking, directing and producing projects such as Coming Undone and short films Paradox and The Mirror.
Tributes have poured in, including one from The Blue Meanie, who tweeted, “Rest In Peace ECW Original Hunter Q. Robbins III. He was a cool guy every time I interacted with him. My thoughts go out to his family.”
• WWE Women’s United States Champion Chelsea Green didn’t hold back when addressing a fan who defended TNA wrestler Tessa Blanchard on X.
Green expressed her disgust at the fan’s comment, which accused other women of driving Blanchard to suicidal thoughts out of jealousy and pettiness.
The fan tweeted, “Maybe the girls who drove Tessa Blanchard to suicidal thoughts out of pettiness and jealousy are the ones who need their a$$ beat…”.
Green responded directly, calling out the defense of Blanchard and labeling her a ‘racist bully’. She tweeted:
“This is giving me the ick… you thinking defending a racist bully is cool. Someone tell them, lol.”
Tessa Blanchard is a former IMPACT World Champion & Knockouts Champion. She returned to TNA at the Final Resolution event in December 2024.
In January 2020, several female wrestlers accused Blanchard of bullying and racism, including an incident where she allegedly spat in a black woman’s face and used a racial slur. The woman involved, Black Rose, later confirmed that the incident had occurred. Blanchard, however, denied the accusations.
