WWE Hall Of Famer Edge’s WWE contract expired yesterday. There have been rumors of him going to All Elite Wrestling since he wrestled his last match in his hometown of Toronto on his 25th anniversary in WWE on SmackDown back in August.

The Rated-R Superstar revealed that WWE has offered him a contract extension, but it’s unknown if the two sides have come to an agreement on a new deal.

Edge’s best friend Christian Cage will defend the TNT Championship against Darby Allin in a 2 Out Of 3 Falls match in the main event of tonight’s AEW WrestleDream pay-per-view, which has sparked speculation about Edge possibly showing up at the end of the show.

According to Fightful Select, an anonymous WWE talent, who is a veteran, told them this past week that Edge going to AEW was a “lock”.

Speaking to the New York Post, AEW’s Bryan Danielson said the following about Edge possibly joining AEW:

“He has a great mind for wrestling. He has a great passion for wrestling and he has a lot to teach a lot of the younger generation. One of the things that I think about his generation and younger is they have a real desire to give back.

I have a real desire to give back. He has a real desire to give back. Christian has a real desire to give back. Having people like that in your locker only benefits the entire company.”
