During an interview with Sports Illustrated, WWE Hall of Famer “Edge” Adam Copeland revealed that The Undertaker reinventing his character multiple times over 30 years motivated him to join AEW.
Below is what the Rated R Superstar said:
“I’m driven by challenges. If you’re not, you’re not going to stick around as long as the guys who are do.
There is a reason The Undertaker lasted as long as he did. He thrived on challenges, and challenged himself to recreate his character and to see if he could hang with those new talents.
For me, it’s really significant to have a blank canvas at this point in my career.”
Edge and The Undertaker had a legendary rivarly during the Ruthless Aggression Era, which featured multiple PPV matches.
They main evented WrestleMania 24 in 2008, where Undertaker defeated Edge to win the World Heavyweight Championship and take his then undefeated WrestleMania streak to 16-0.
Edge made his Dynamite debut last night on the 4-year anniversary episode, where he confronted TNT Champion Christian Cage for attacking Sting.
Copeland then said he wants to team up with Christian again and wants to end his career with his friend of 40 years, and to show the new generation of fans that they are one of the greatest tag teams of all time, by facing teams like FTR and Young Bucks.
However, Christian told him to “go f**k yourself”. You can watch the uncensored video below:
After the show went off the air, Edge laid out Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne with Spears to send the fans home happy.
Last night’s episode drew 800,000 viewers with a 0.28 rating in the 18-49 demo, which is down from last week’s 855,000 viewers with a 0.28 rating.
