• Female Veteran Feels Like An Equal To The Undertaker Now

Mickie James is no stranger to breaking new ground, but her role as the only female coach on the first season of WWE LFG came with its own share of doubt.

In an interview with Denise Salcedo, James opened up about what it was like to share coaching duties with Booker T, Bubba Ray Dudley, and The Undertaker. Despite her long list of accomplishments, James admitted she felt uncertain about belonging in such elite company.

Unlike her co-stars Booker T & Bubba Ray, James doesn’t run a wrestling school. Still, James found support on set—especially from Booker T.

She also shared how her view of The Undertaker shifted during filming. For years, she had only known him as a serious figure in the WWE locker room. But through working alongside him on LFG, she saw a different side.

“I got to, I think, to know Undertaker in a different light that I had never really… I’d only seen him as the judge and the jury of the locker room, you know what I mean? But to then get to know him and feel as an equal, like that was pretty special, you know, with all these guys.

They were all Hall of Famers. I was the only one that wasn’t a Hall of Famer and I was the first female coach, you know.”

• Backstage WWE Reaction To WrestleMania 42 News

WrestleMania 42 will no longer take place in New Orleans. The move is part of a larger agreement that will bring WrestleMania to the city at a future date.

Fightful Select reports that the news came as a surprise to many within WWE. One wrestler noted that this year’s WrestleMania announcement came unusually late, and the delay for next year’s reveal is even more noticeable.

Despite the surprise, most WWE talent reportedly aren’t too concerned. The company usually handles travel and logistics, so many had not yet started thinking about WrestleMania 42 or heard where it might take place.

WWE’s current leadership is comfortable waiting to announce major events, especially if there’s a chance to increase revenue.

Outside WWE, there was immediate frustration. WrestleCon had already locked in a venue in New Orleans for the same weekend. Other promotions had not yet signed contracts but had started early talks, as is standard nearly a year ahead of WrestleMania.

Now, many are scrambling to find out where the show is being moved.
