• Final WWF World Title Change Took Place 21 Years Ago Today

On this day in Pro Wrestling history on April 21, 2002, the World Wrestling Federation aired ‘Backlash 2002’ LIVE on PPV from the Kemper Memorial Arena in Kansas City, Missouri.

This was the 4th annual Backlash event held by the WWF/WWE from 1999 till 2009 and again since 2016.

This event featured the final WWF World Title change (because WWF became WWE the next month), when Hollywood Hulk Hogan defeated Triple H to win the Title.

WWF Women’s Championship: Jazz (c) defeated Trish Stratus

WWF Intercontinental Championship: Eddie Guerrero defeated Rob Van Dam (c)

#1 Contender: The Undertaker defeated Stone Cold Steve Austin

WWF Tag Team Championship: Billy & Chuck (c) defeated Al Snow & Maven

Undisputed WWF World Heavyweight Championship: Hulk Hogan defeated Triple H (c)

• Old School WWF Legend Celebrates His Birthday

Legendary Old School WWF Veteran Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake (Real name: Ed Leslie) celebrates his 65th birthday today.

Brutus Beefcake wrestled for the World Wrestling Federation from 1984 till 1993, before joining Ted Turner’s WCW, worked for from 1994 until 1999.

During his time in WCW, Ed portrayed several different characters, such as Brother Bruti, The Butcher, The Man With No Name, The Zodiac, The Booty Man and The Disciple.

In 2019, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by his life-long friend “The Immortal” Hulk Hogan.
