Below are some top AEW & TNA news stories of the day.
• Former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega was diagnosed with diverticulitis in December 2023. At the time, Omega had been teaming with Chris Jericho on AEW television, building toward a match against Ricky Starks and Big Bill at the Worlds End pay-per-view event.
If his diagnosis had been delayed, Omega risked developing a blood infection with a nearly 50 percent mortality rate. He spent several months sidelined before undergoing surgery.
Recently, Omega has spoken about his return. His last TV appearance showed him advancing The Elite’s storyline by being attacked by the faction.
The Wrestling Observer noted that “Omega is talking about his comeback as if it’s a thing, rather than a possibility, so it should be relatively soon. The idea all along has been to set up a 5th match with Kazuchika Okada.”
Speaking of Omega, he will make a special guest appearance at NJPW Power Struggle on November 4th.
