Enzo Amore, a former WWE star known for his charisma and controversy, has addressed rumors about a potential move to AEW.
Since his WWE release after sexual assault allegations (which were later proven false), Enzo has been active on the independent wrestling circuit.
However, speculation about his joining AEW, especially with his former tag partner Big Cass (now W. Morrissey) working there, has persisted.
In a recent interview with Inside the Ropes, Enzo clarified the situation, revealing that while there had been brief communication with AEW years ago, there was no serious interest from either side.
“I think a few years ago, I was in contact with them. There was a lack of interest on their end, and they were bringing in Big Cass, and honestly, no. The answer is no,” Enzo said.
“I’m doing fine in my life, you people know my phone number, if they wanted to get in touch with me and contact me, they could. People know that I’m a draw when it comes to television. You put me on your TV screen, I’m going to do a number, at least the first day. It’s on me to keep the train rolling. But I just know that it’s one of those feelings where if you don’t want to work with me, I don’t want to work with you.”
WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has voiced that Enzo could succeed in AEW, but it remains uncertain whether AEW will reconsider or if Enzo is truly finished with the idea.
Fans will have to wait to see if “The Realest Guy in the Room” ever steps into an AEW ring.
