Below are a couple of top news stories of the day, featuring AEW Rampage, The Rock & Cody Rhodes.
• After last night’s Dynamite went off the air, All Elite Wrestling taped this Friday’s episode of AEW Rampage. Below are the spoilers:
– AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada def. Mark Briscoe in the Continental Classic
– ROH World Champion Chris Jericho said he is the King of New York and called out Matt Cardona (former WWE Intercontinental Champion Zack Ryder). Cardona returned to AEW TV and asserted that he, not Jericho, was the true King of New York. He described the moment as the biggest opportunity of his career and challenged Jericho to a match for the ROH World Title at the Final Battle PPV on December 20. Cardona vowed to defeat Jericho for the title.
Jericho responded by slapping Cardona, who retaliated with a slap of his own. Bryan Keith then attacked Cardona, with Jericho joining in. Jericho whipped Cardona with the ROH World Championship before he and Keith left Cardona on the mat.
– TNT Champion Daniel Garcia def. The Beast Mortos in the Continental Classic
– The Vendetta (Deonna Purazzo & Taya Valkyrie) def. Ella Elizabeth & Freya States
– Ricochet def. Komander in the Continental Classic

• WWE is proceeding with its creative plans for WrestleMania 41 as if The Rock will not appear, though they are open to using him if he becomes available.
While there was speculation about a potential match between The Rock and Cody Rhodes, reports suggest that The Rock’s appearance at the Bad Blood PLE was simply to make a brief on-screen appearance with no significant storyline attached. WWE knew he might appear but didn’t confirm it until the week of the event.
According to Fightful Select, Rock and Rhodes filmed something at the Moana 2 premiere, but it’s unclear if it will be used.
Reports claiming that The Rock is “100 percent out” of WrestleMania are said to be unreliable, as those close to The Rock wouldn’t share that information.
