Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, involving Gangrel and Alicia Fox.
• Before WrestleMania 39, there were several rumors going around that WWE would bring back WWF Attitude Era Veteran Gangrel for an appearance during Edge’s entrance for the Hell in a Cell match against “Demon” Finn Balor.
Edge, Gangrel & Christian were known as The Brood on WWF TV in 1998 & 1999.
Despite the heavy rumors, the ex-husband of Luna Vachon wasn’t brought back for the ‘Grandest Stage of Them All’.
Here’s what Gangrel told WrestlingNewsCo about the rumors:
“I believe it may have been pitched, but I never heard about it. I called Edge and said ‘Hey, where’d all these rumors start?’. And he goes ‘Ah, they think they know everything’.”
Gangrel wrestled for the World Wrestling Federation from 1998 until 2001.
• During an online autograph signing with Highspots, former WWE Diva Alicia Fox revealed that she never identified with her ‘crazy’ character in WWE.
Here’s what Alicia said:
“One part of my career that I really struggled with is I never identified with the scripts that Alicia had to say.
I never identified with the ‘crazy Black woman’. I never identified as a Team Bella girl because I’m Alicia Fox.
They’ve always been plural. I am singular, you know?”
After some time in WWE’s developmental promotions Ohio Valley Wrestling (2006-2007) and Florida Championship Wrestling (2007-2008), Alicia Fox became a WWE Diva in 2008 and wrestled for them full-time until 2019, but returned several times since, which included entering both, the 2021 & 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble matches as a surprise entrant.
Alicia’s biggest accomplishments were winning the WWE Divas Championship in 2010 and the 24/7 Championship in 2021.
