• “Give him that damn ball” – WCW Legend Sees His Own Story Reflected In LA Knight

When Diamond Dallas Page looks at LA Knight, he doesn’t see a wrestler borrowing from the past – he sees a journey that mirrors his own.

Speaking during an appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, DDP opened up about the comparisons fans have drawn between Knight’s rise in WWE and Page’s late-career breakthrough years ago.

Rather than brushing off the idea, Page leaned into it. He praised Knight’s persistence, noting that while Knight had always been talented, it took time for everything to click at the highest level. In Page’s view, that patience paid off. Knight didn’t just find a character – he refined it and now stands out as someone fully capable of carrying the spotlight if given the opportunity.

Page pushed back strongly against claims that Knight is simply echoing past stars. Instead, he described Knight as a blend of wrestling influences shaped into something authentic. To Page, that’s not imitation – it’s evolution. He sees Knight as someone who grew up absorbing the business and is now applying those lessons in his own voice, on the biggest stage possible.

One detail that especially struck Page was the timing. After reading a story comparing their careers, Page realized both he and Knight reached their peak momentum at the same age. Page captured his first world championship in WCW at 43. Knight, now the same age, is still ascending – a fact Page finds both impressive and encouraging. He even talked about how good Knight looks physically.

DDP also reflected on how satisfying it is to watch Knight receive major opportunities. Page believes Knight is more than ready to deliver and that The Mega Star is just getting started.

“I love that kid, man. I love the tenacity, the stick-to-it. It took him a long time to get to that character. And he was good before that, but now he’s great. Hopefully at some point he gets a chance to really get that ball, because he can run with it.

Give him that damn ball, because that cat – he’s got it all. And people who say that he’s mimicking this character or that character, that’s so wrong. He’s a piece of all that. He grew up on all of us, coming up wanting to do what we do, and now he’s doing it at its highest level.”

• “If John Cena had won the match, no one would be talking about it” – Top WWE Star

On the Mohr Story podcast, Seth Rollins had the following to say about John Cena tapping out to GUNTHER in retirement match:

“I have a sneaky suspicion that it was his idea. I don’t know if that’s true because I didn’t ask. If I’m blowing up your spot John, I’m sorry. I think it was his idea, personally. I think it was his idea.

It’s customary in our business to, when you’re on your way out, put the guy over. If John Cena had won the match, we wouldn’t even be having the conversation today. No one would be talking about it.

At the end of it, we’d be like, ‘Aw, that was great.’ That’s it. There would be no money to be made.”
