• Goldberg Addresses Injuring Bret Hart Ahead Of His Retirement Match

Goldberg will have his retirement match at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event in Atlanta on July 12th, where he will challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship. During an interview on The National Football Show, Goldberg addressed injuring Bret Hart in WCW: “Along the way a couple people got hurt. You know how many times I got hurt in the business? Do you think I blamed it on everybody else? Not a chance. I’m studying my opponent, right? And I’ve seen random videos of his opponents and of other people, and then a short will pop up and I’ll click on it – of guys hurting people, right? And I kicked Bret Hart in the head on accident a hundred years ago. And I’ve been remorseful ever since, and I’ve said I was sorry. I was young in the business, no question and people make mistakes.

And people have to understand that I was extremely lucky to break in the business when I did, because I had Curt Henig, I had Kevin Nash. I had the Steiner Brothers, I had Norton, I had Hogan. I had Flair. When he talked to me, I had Bret Hart.

There were guys that were unbelievable sources of information and coaches, and people that took the time to help me out. I never would take advantage of anybody. I mean, I’m a dude who went up against two 350 pound guys every play playing nose guard just like you did. Do you think I’m going to cheap shot people?”

In a now-viral tweet, Naomi tagged Cathy and riffed off her recent appearance, triggering her phone’s voice assistant with a memorable musical request. She playfully called out: “Hi Cath @catherinekelley… hey Siri, play MILKSHAKE by Kelis.”

The reference to Kelis’ iconic track Milkshake—famously about “bringing all the boys to the yard” did not go unnoticed. Naomi’s message left little doubt about what caught her eye: questioning how Cathy could “bring it” so stylishly, even captioning the moment with a cheeky nod at her curves.

• WWE’s New Strategy To Improve Their TV Product Heading Into SummerSlam

Fans can expect a summer full of standout wrestling matches on WWE television, according to a new report. Cory Hays revealed that a source inside WWE has indicated the company plans to put a stronger spotlight on in-ring matchups in the coming months. This strategy is reportedly aimed at delivering higher-quality episodes of RAW, NXT and SmackDown, with an emphasis on wrestling performance rather than purely storyline segments.

If true, it could mean longer, more competitive bouts and fewer filler segments as WWE looks to keep audiences engaged throughout the summer season. No specific matchups have been confirmed yet, but the shift could bring fresh excitement to weekly shows heading into major events like SummerSlam.

• The Hardy Boyz Might Retire On July 20

At TNA Slammiversary 2025 on July 20, The Nemeths (Nic Nemeth aka Dolph Ziggler and Ryan Nemeth) will defend their TNA World Tag Team Championship against The Hardys (Matt and Jeff Hardy), The Rascalz (Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz), and First Class (AJ Francis and KC Navarro) in a Ladder Match. On his podcast, Matt Hardy said that The Hardy Boyz might retire if they lose this match:

“We have kind of made this a do-or-die situation for myself and Jeff, like if, if myself and Jeff, if we can’t perform as a top-level tag team, if we can’t be the best of the best, and we can’t get in there and hang with the current tag teams that are up and running today, and we don’t win those titles at Slammiversary, maybe it’s time for The Hardys to call it a career.

So we’re kind of putting a tough stipulation on our match, just for ourselves. We’re putting these expectations on ourselves. It’s going to make us rethink things. It’s going to make us refocus. It’s going to make us get to where we need to get.”

• Possible Date For Roman Reigns’ Return

Behind the scenes, WWE has started laying the groundwork for Roman Reigns’ highly anticipated comeback. WrestleVotes previously reported that new merchandise and marketing materials are already in development, signaling that the company is getting serious about bringing The OTC back into the spotlight. WWE is also exploring variations of the “Tribal Chief” moniker, hinting at a possible refresh or evolution of his character when he resurfaces.

In a new update from WrestleVotes, Roman will return to WWE TV before SummerSlam 2025 and will set up a match for the biggest event of the summer. Since this will be the first two-night SummerSlam in history, WWE wants all of their active top stars to be a part of this event.

Word going on is that Roman could return to WWE TV at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12, since Seth Rollins will also be a part of this event (he’s scheduled to face LA Knight). Rollins, along with Bron Breakker, took out Reigns on RAW after WrestleMania 41.

• WWE Hall Of Famer Announces He’s Returning At AEW All In

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross is coming back to the AEW commentary desk and fans will get more than just his voice. The iconic broadcaster revealed on his Grilling JR podcast that he’ll be calling the action at AEW’s All In: Texas pay-per-view, set for Saturday, July 12. The news comes after Ross had to pull out of an appearance at the Fanboy Expo in Knoxville due to scheduling overlap. It turns out that clash was because of All Elite Wrestling’s biggest event of the year.

But All In won’t be the only place fans will see him that weekend. Ross is also scheduled to appear at Starrcast on Friday, July 11, as part of a special AEW experience. For the first time, AEW is bringing one of its actual commentary desks to the convention floor, allowing fans a rare photo opportunity to sit at the same table where Ross and others call the action.

Calling it a unique moment fans won’t want to miss, JR expressed excitement over being part of something different and memorable outside the ring. “It’s a cool keepsake,” he said during the podcast, hinting at the once-in-a-lifetime feel of the setup.

Good Ol’ JR recently won his battle against colon cancer after undergoing surgery.
