4. “I’m This Generation’s Shawn Michaels” – Kevin Owens
It looks like almost every other guy in the WWE wants to either bring out Shawn Michaels out of retirement for a match, or be the next Shawn Michaels.
WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens is the latest addition to this list as he noted on Twitter that he’s this generation’s Shawn Michaels. Below is what Owens tweeted:
What a sickening tweet. The only correct choice for “new fav” as you put it is myself. I’m this generation’s HBK too so it just makes sense!
Owens made the above tweet when actor & singer Skylar Astin noted on Twitter that Shawn Michaels is his all time favorite and Seth Rollins is his new favorite.
Speaking of Rollins, he recently noted that he wants to face Shawn Michaels. During a recent appearance on the Gorilla Position podcast, Rollins talked about the current WWE World Champion AJ Styles teasing a match with WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels at Royal Rumble 2017.
Rollins noted that he wants to take on HBK (if he comes out of retirement) before Styles has a chance to. Below is what he said:
If he’s ever coming out of retirement it better be at WrestleMania. Kudos to AJ for giving it a shot but he can take a backseat. I would like that match before he gets his hands on Shawn. A lot of people would pay good money to see Shawn and AJ. Me and AJ might have to fight it out. Winner gets Shawn.
