Famous WCW Legend Bill Goldberg was recently interviewed on the Chicago Sports Podcast and he was asked to compare today’s WWE product to his prime during the legendary Monday Night Wars.

Here’s what Goldberg had to say about the current state of WWE:

“The internal storylines, I don’t think, are better. The characters, I surely know aren’t better. The guys that are doing their thing right now and leading the charge, they’re doing a damn good job, they’re just not deep. That’s all.

They just aren’t deep. It’s hard to have a couple different people carrying the flag and be able to hand it off to a proper person and keep.

I’m trying to keep this as vanilla as possible. It’s tough to have the depth. I think they’re lacking in that area. That’s all. Period, end of story. I don’t like getting into it, I don’t like people talking sh*t.”

Goldberg wrestled for Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling from 1997 until 2001, including 1 reign as the WCW World Heavyweight Champion, before working for Vince McMahon’s WWE from 2003 to 2004, also including 1 reign as World Heavyweight Champion.

He eventually returned in 2016 and was used as a special attraction / part-timer until his WWE contract expired in 2022. Bill wrestled his last match to date in February 2022, when he unsuccessfully challenged Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at the WWE Elimination Chamber 2022 pay-per-view in Saudi Arabia.
