Below are a couple of top news stories of the day, featuring Goldberg, Ryback, Conor McGregor and Jake Paul.
• Goldberg will have his retirement match in WWE in 2025, sparking speculation about his final opponent. However, Goldberg recently addressed Ryback’s persistent challenges, which have been ongoing for years but remain unanswered.
On The Cat’s Corner Podcast, Ernest “The Cat” Miller indirectly referenced Ryback, asking Goldberg, “What’s that guy’s name? He wants you so bad, he just love you. He wanna be you, I won’t bring his name. Are you talking about the guy that’s always hungry?”
Goldberg refrained from naming Ryback directly but emphasized that he had no intention of accepting the challenge. While expressing appreciation for Ryback’s passion, Goldberg clarified that he’s not the right opponent.
Here’s what the WCW Legend said:
“I’m greatly appreciative of his passion, period. But I’m not that guy. I work in different ways, Ernest, you know that. And I’m just not that guy.
I’m honored, and I get it and I see the reasoning, but right now I’m just not that guy. It’s not that I’m insulting him in any way shape or form. I’m just not that guy right now. You can read whatever you want into that.”

• After defeating WWE Hall of Famer Mike Tyson in a Boxing Match, Jake Paul challenged former 2-division UFC World Champion Conor McGregor to an MMA fight.
Jake wrote:
“Dear Conor, I know you told my team you would fight me at 170 lbs. That’s never happening. But let’s run it in MMA. No weight class. Just like how it used to be done. But you won’t.”
McGregor, who hasn’t competed in UFC in over 3 years, fired back on X with a now-deleted post featuring an image of 82-year-old Senator Mitch McConnell and the caption: “Nakisa already rang me, lad, it’s this guy next for you. Good luck pal.”
McGregor also made another tweet (which he deleted later as well) regarding Jake’s next opponent:
“They are eyeing Prichard Colon for next opponent.”
Conor received backlash for this tweet, as Prichard Colón is a former professional boxer who suffered a traumatic brain injury back in 2015 during a fight and remained in coma for 221 days due to a brain hemorrhage.
Colon, initially in a persistent vegetative state and unable to speak, has made progress. After being released from the hospital, he is undergoing physiotherapy and can communicate using a computer.
