Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, including an update on Bobby Roode:
• We recently noted that Bobby Roode’s (age 47) full-time in-ring career might be over. PWInsider reported that Roode was removed from the active WWE roster list. His last match took place at a WWE Live Event on June 25th 2022.
Roode underwent a surgery to fuse his C5 and C6 vertebrae last year. Earlier this year, Roode revealed that he underwent another surgery to fuse his C4 and C5 vertebrae as well.
He is currently working as a Backstage Producer in WWE. He started as a Producer around SummerSlam in August. While there’s no good news available regarding his in-ring status, there is good news regarding his backstage status.
Fightful Select is reporting that Roode is now producing main roster TV matches on his own. When someone is assigned to a Producer role, they work with a longtime Producer to learn and then WWE decides if they’re good at this or not.
With Roode working solo as a Producer now, it looks like this is going to be a permanent position for him moving forward.
• On this week’s NXT special episode of Halloween Havoc (Night 1), Becky Lynch lost the NXT Women’s Championship to Lyra Valkyria in the main event.
Becky’s reign lasted for 42 days, where she had 5 televised title defenses.
According to Bodyslam, Becky was banged up heading into her match with Lyra, which was witnessed by Jade Cargill in attendance.
It should be noted that Becky being banged up didn’t play a role in her being booked to lose the Title.
Speaking of Becky, she also suffered an injury at the NXT No Mercy 2023 premium live event. The Man sustained a laceration to her arm and the wound required 11 stitches to close up.

Word going on is that Becky’s current condition is not an extension of her arm injury.
Becky has had quite an eventful year so far. Along with capturing the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship and the NXT Women’s Championship, she also won her feud against one of the greatest female wrestlers of all time, WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus.
