Bray Wyatt made his shocking return to WWE at the Extreme Rules Premium Live Event exactly one year ago today. He was released by the company in the summer of 2021 after he had been off television for months after his loss to Randy Orton at WrestleMania 37.
Unfortunately, Wyatt’s last WWE run did not go on for long as he caught COVID-19 a couple of months after his return, and passed away after suffering a heart attack on August 24th.
After his match with LA Knight at the Royal Rumble earlier this year, Wyatt was scheduled to face Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania 39, but that didn’t happen due to his illness.
Back in July, Fightful Select reported that WWE planned to create a new faction for Bray Wyatt before he fell ill. It was going to be something like The Wyatt Family, which would include Bray Wyatt, Bo Dallas as Uncle Howdy, Eric Young and Alexa Bliss.
The plan was supposed to be put in effect after WrestleMania, but Wyatt fell ill, Young asked for his release from WWE and Bliss got pregnant.
Earlier this month, insider source BWE revealed that WWE was planning to continue the storyline Wyatt was supposed to be involved in before his demise. The ideas about the Firefly Fun House and Wyatt 6 faction were still on the table. All parties agreed to move on with it and honor Wyatt.
In an update on this situation, BWE is reporting that WWE no longer plans to continue Wyatt’s storyline and the Uncle Howdy character isn’t coming back:
“Last I knew it was off after a few promising talks.”
The Wrestling Observer recently reported the following about Bo Dallas:
“He’s done. The only reason he was even being used was as a favor to Bray Wyatt. I don’t expect him to be back.”
