WWE Superstar Gunther (fka WALTER) is the reigning and defending Intercontinental Champion for almost a year, after winning the title in June 2022.
During a recent interview with DC101, Gunther was asked when he will go after Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
Here’s what the Imperium leader answered:
“I think there’s no rush with that.
I think he’s doing his thing right now and I’m very focused on doing my thing.
I didn’t really have an urge to seek out that confrontation yet but, like you said, down the line it’s one of the matches fans are looking forward to.”
Gunther is among those Superstars that are considered to be future WrestleMania main eventers for decades to come, alongside Rikishi’s son Solo Sikoa and Rick Steiner’s son Bron Breakker.
At Night Of Champions 2023, Gunther defeated Mustafa Ali to retain the Intercontinental Title.
On last night’s RAW, The Ring General started a feud with Matt Riddle.
In a backstage interview with Cathy Kelley on last night’s show, Riddle said he plans on winning the Men’s Money In The Bank 2023 Ladder Match.
Riddle said he can’t wait to cash-in on either Roman Reigns (for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship) or Seth Rollins (for the World Heavyweight Championship) when he wins.
Gunther interrupted him and challenged Riddle to cash-in on him for the Intercontinental Championship if Riddle wins the contract.
