• Gunther Reveals Who He Wanted To Face Instead Of Jey Uso At WrestleMania 41

During an interview on The Ariel Helwani Show, World Heavyweight Champion Gunther talked about who he originally wanted to face at WrestleMania 41, instead of 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble winner Jey Uso.

Here’s what The Ring General said:

“I didn’t think Jey would be my ideal opponent for WrestleMania because we are very different. But then rethinking it, I think it makes a lot of sense.

My hopes were, can I mix it up with somebody like (CM) Punk, maybe with Seth (Rollins), or maybe with Roman (Reigns)… is there a chance for even (John) Cena? But yeah, it didn’t work out yet.

I think we’re in a situation right now in a company where so many things changed in a very short time and there’s a whole new excitement about the company and that’s a big opportunity for guys that are newer to the place like me.”

Gunther vs. Jey will take place on Night 1 of WrestleMania 41.

• Rhea Ripley Reveals Why Cody Rhodes Gets Mad At Her

Rhea Ripley has cemented herself as one of WWE’s biggest stars—not just in the ring, but at the merchandise table too. Her popularity has surged to the point that even top names like Cody Rhodes are finding themselves trailing behind her in sales. And according to Ripley, Cody isn’t shy about letting her know when that happens.

On Stephanie’s Places, Stephanie McMahon discussed Ripley’s growing star power, pointing out that merchandise numbers often reflect just how “over” a WWE Superstar really is. As McMahon put it, “Often, how over you are is shown by how well your merch is selling. You’re topping the charts, beating Cody.”

Ripley didn’t hold back in her response, revealing that The American Nightmare takes those numbers personally. “He gets so mad sometimes,” she admitted. “I get a message every now and then—he’ll be like, ‘You got me this week.’ I love it.”
