• Gunther’s Planned WrestleMania 42 Match In Jeopardy
According to Bodyslam, Gunther vs. Rey Mysterio was planned for WrestleMania 42, but Mysterio injured his ribs before Royal Rumble 2026. Right now, it’s unclear if The Ring General will have a WrestleMania match this year. WWE officials are waiting to see if Rey will get cleared in time for the event, as WrestleMania 42 is still one month away.
Gunther last competed on the March 2nd episode of RAW, where he defeated Dragon Lee and unmasked him during the match. This was supposed to set up the program with Mysterio.
During an interview on Unlikely with Adrian Hernandez, Rey said the following about his injury:
“Much better than when it actually happened. That injury occurred on January 26, which was the Monday leading into the Rumble. Fractured ribs, both left and right. So those take a little bit of time to heal, but on the way up.”

• WWE Released Authors Of Pain After Incident With Wyatt Sicks Member
During an interview on The Ariel Helwani Show, Authors of Pain member Rezar (Gzim Selmani) talked about AOP’s WWE release in 2025. He believes his and Akam’s release happened due to a backstage argument with one member of The Wyatt Sicks after an incident at a WWE Live Event in December 2024. Here’s what Rezar said:
“There was an incident. Very unprofessional from one of those guys. I don’t know their names and don’t want to go into it too deeply, but there was an incident at one of the Holiday tours that we did.
Somebody tried to switch up the match during the match and that’s just a no go for me, especially if you’ve just been in the company for a little bit, and we were already there for a long time. You don’t do that.
I just had to let somebody know and that was the end of it. They tried to switch up the match in the middle of the match. I’m a professional. Even if I got to take a beating in a wrestling ring, I’ll do it. And if you’re gonna be a scared little b—h, it’s not my fault. I will let you know backstage.
The switch was certain moves we did, certain guys didn’t want to take it because we’re big guys. So if we lift you up and double Spinebuster somebody five nights in a row, the sixth night somebody can complain, but don’t change it during the match.”
