Below are a couple of top AEW news stories of the day, involving Chris Jericho and Samoa Joe.
• During the AEW Worlds End post-show media scrum, AEW President Tony Khan was asked about the safety of wrestlers backstage in terms of sexual harassment (indirectly referring to the alleged Chris Jericho – Kylie Rae incident).
Tony said AEW is the safest wrestling company in the world and they have the best safety record. They take this stuff seriously and whenever a wrestler wants to talk about anything they can talk to him.
He also said if anything comes up, he takes it to the Disciplinary Committee, which is doing a good job.
Later in the show, Tony was directly asked if Jericho has ever been investigated for misconduct in AEW.
Tony said he can’t speak to Internet and unsourced rumors and repeated what he said before about him believing that AEW is the safest wrestling company in the world.
Another journalist asked Tony the same question, hoping he’d get a different answer, but Tony gave the same answer for the 3rd time.

• Samoa Joe defeated MJF to win the AEW World Championship in the main event of tonight’s Worlds End PPV.
MJF passed out to Joe’s Coquina Clutch. Adam Cole was ringside for the match and was shocked.

During the post-show media scrum, Joe talked about winning a World Title for the first time in 15 years. Joe said:
“I’m the best, most dangerous individual to step foot in the company.”
Joe said he’s a different version of himself and he’s a calculated Samoa Joe, and that fans are about the witness the best version of “World Champion Samoa Joe”.
When a reported said it seemed like Joe’s career was about to end a few years ago, when he started doing commentary in WWE, Joe said that wasn’t the case.
Joe revealed that he was determined to heal properly and was willing to take as much time as he needed to completely heal, as per the doctor’s advise.
He said he doesn’t regret all that time off and credited it for the run he’s having right now.
Joe said he’s ready to take on anybody here in AEW. He mentioned a few names and said “Hangman” Adam Page and Swerve Strickland can get it.
He also took a shot at the backstage AEW fights:
“Everybody starts fights around here, but nobody ever starts fights with me.”
