Below are a couple of top AEW & WWE news stories of the day:

• During a recent interview on ‘T95 The Rock Station’, WWF Attitude Era Legend The Big Show aka Paul Wight spoke about the qualities of current AEW World Champion MJF and even went as far as to compare him to ‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair and the late great ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper.

Here’s what Paul Wight had to say:

“When I look at MJF, because MJF is naturally cocky, you know he’s a hard worker, he’s got that swag to him, he understands performing, he was a child star on Broadway, so he’s got some chops, got some talent. But he understands who he is, he understands what works.

To me, there’s only one Ric Flair, but I look at MJF, he’s the most modern-day Ric Flair that I’ve seen. There’s heels that get heat and then there are guys like Ric Flair that you hate him, but then at the same time, you can’t wait to see what they say next, like Ric Flair, Roddy Piper.”

Maxwell Jacob Friedman was born into a jewish family in Long Island, New York, and was trained to become a professional wrestler by former WWE Superstar Curt Hawkins (Brian Myers). MJF made his official pro wrestling debut on the indies in 2015 and joined Tony Khan’s All Elite Wrestling in 2019.

• According to PWInsider, there’s a lot of internal praise in WWE for RAW Superstar Damian Priest, who is the current Mr. Money In The Bank and the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champion (along with fellow Judgment Day member Finn Balor):

“He’s really impressed management by how hard and physical he’s worked and for gutting through quite a few times where he’s been banged up but kept going.”

Priest was booked to win the Money In The Bank contract because he’s seen as top-level, upper-echelon talent. His stock in the company rose after the match he put on with Bad Bunny at Backlash 2023.
