During a recent interview on the ‘Gabby AF’ podcast, Old School Wrestling Legend Ric Flair spoke about joining AEW and revealed the wrestlers he’s looking forward to work with.
It should be noted that he’s talking about working with them in a non-wrestling capacity, as The Nature Boy is officially retired from active pro wrestling for good, but he’ll work as Sting’s manager / outside enforcer for The Stinger’s matches until the Revolution 2024 PPV, where Steve Borden will retire as well.
The 16-time World Heavyweight Champion mentioned his son-in-law Andrade El Idolo, Christian Cage, with whom he had a segment during his AEW debut, but also the current AEW World Champion MJF.
Here’s what Ric Flair had to say about Maxwell Jacob Friedman:
“I’m looking forward to spending time with him. But he’s got a gift. I’m dying to get in the ring and have a joust with him. Then we’ll find out how good he is. I may have to pull some cards out of my back pocket on that one.
I can still talk better than anybody. They’ll find out if they turn me loose. I’m dying to go one-on-one with MJF, man. It would get a rating too. ‘Let’s talk, young man’.”
Is Flair going to stay by Sting’s side or will he turn heel on him like he did in early 1990 and later again at the WCW Halloween Havoc 1995 pay-per-view?
