• “His confidence… I wish I had some of that” – WWE Hall Of Famer On Dominik Mysterio
Dominik Mysterio made his debut as a pro wrestler in the summer of 2020. He worked alongside his father Rey for two years before turning heel to join forces with The Judgment Day in 2022.
Dirty Dom has achieved a lot of success as a heel. He currently holds the WWE Intercontinental Championship and the AAA Mega Championship.
In an interview with the Club 520 podcast, Rey Mysterio revealed that his wife, Angie, was the first one to point out that their son would be a fitting bad guy.
“Deep down in my thoughts, I’ve always said or knew that he was going to be something bigger than what I did. I didn’t know how. My wife was the first one to spot and point that she never saw him as the good guy. She always saw him as a bad guy in the ring, which now it makes complete sense.
She spent more time with him than I did because I was traveling so much, she was mom and dad. But to see his growth over the past four years and how he just evolved into this character and embraced it and just now completely owns it is awesome, man.
His confidence is… I wish I had some of that when I was his age, and I wish I knew what he knows now when I was his age, I had no clue. I was learning as I was going.
But I think the huge factor in this is he was… he was thrown in right away to swim with sharks and he figured that out. He learned how to swim with sharks. So, you know, I think personally that’s why he’s in the spot that he’s in now.”
Dirty Dom forced his father to put the Mega Title around his waist after winning it at Worlds Collide.
• Logan Paul Will Be The Biggest Babyface Of All Time, Says Former WWF Champion
Logan Paul first appeared in WWE in 2021 on the road to WrestleMania 37. He then signed a contract with the company a year later and became a part of the roster.
The former United States Champion has been a heel for his entire WWE run. Speaking with SK Wrestling’s WrestleBinge, WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter said he believes Paul has the potential to become the biggest babyface in pro wrestling history.
Here’s what the former WWF Champion said:
“Once he establishes himself as the biggest villain, he’ll be the biggest hero of all time. I think he’ll surpass every hero we’ve ever had in this business because once the people believe in him, like they did me at the Alley Fight, when they threw in the towel, when The General threw in the towel, Ernie Roth, people were like, ‘Wait, Sarge ain’t done. Although he’s bleeding to death, he’s still trying to get back in the ring and fight Pat Patterson.
And it (Pat Patterson winning) was a way to stop the match without anybody getting pinned or losing, but it made Sgt. Slaughter. Everybody said, ‘That’s the toughest S.O.B. we’ve ever seen. He still wants to fight, and he’s bleeding to death.’ That’s what Logan Paul has to create.
He’s gotta be the biggest villain of all time, and then when the time is right, someone’s gotta look out because he’s gonna turn into the hero, and they’re gonna blow the roof off.”
Logan Paul was last seen in a ring at Clash In Paris last month, where he lost to John Cena.
• “These young guys really don’t care” – Booker T Agrees With Undertaker’s Recent Comments
The Undertaker is one of the legends who isn’t completely satisfied with the attitude of modern day pro wrestlers. A few weeks ago, The Deadman stated that he found it disheartening that wrestlers of the current era make TikToks backstage instead of watching the ongoing matches.
In an interview with ESPORTS INSIDER, 2-time WWE Hall of Famer and current NXT commentator Booker T was asked about The Deadman’s comments. He said he agrees with him and feels like today’s wrestlers don’t care a lot about character work.
“I agree with Taker. I truly believe in keeping the character as real as you possibly can. Because that’s your money maker.
I always say, can you imagine if The Undertaker was ‘The Phenom’ on pay-per-view on Saturday night, and then on Tuesday night, he was on TikTok as a chef? You wouldn’t be able to buy The Undertaker the same way if he were to make you feel that way.
So I think believing in the character and keeping the character sacred. It’s something that these young guys really don’t think about or care about these days.”
