Below are a couple of top news stories of the day, involving Hulk Hogan, Cody Rhodes and The Rock.

• Hulk Hogan is celebrating the 40th anniversary of his first ever WWF World Heavyweight Championship victory, which changed his career and the landscape of professional wrestling.

During an interview with Sports Illustrated, the Hulkster said late WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes got him hooked on wrestling:

“It was Dusty Rhodes who was the one who got me hooked on wrestling. If Dusty Rhodes was not on TV on Saturday or Sunday morning here in Tampa, we were pi$$ed off. We lived for Dusty Rhodes. I loved the matches, but the interviews alone, man – those were incredible.”

• According to a new report from Sports Illustrated, sources close to WWE’s Chief Content Officer Triple H have indicated that Cody Rhodes won’t main event WrestleMania 40 and isn’t scheduled to “finish the story” at the biggest event of 2024 either.

As things stand right now, Roman Reigns vs. The Rock for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship is going to be the main event of WrestleMania 40 – Night 2.

During an interview with Bleacher Report, Cody had the following to say about the rumors of Roman vs. Rock taking place in April:

“You mentioned The Great One, The Rock, nothing but respect for him. I went and saw Jungle Cruise, I’m a Rock fan.

I don’t think he’s the type that would come in and meddle with a story that’s been being told over the past two years. I think he’s probably up to something else, but you never know with WWE.

I’ll be watching just like everybody else when I’m not wrestling.”
