• “I don’t think Triple H is thinking a lot about what MVP is saying” – WWE Star
MVP left WWE last year after being unhappy with Triple H’s way of doing business for a while. He was dissatisfied with the way The Game booked Bobby Lashley and has said multiple times that he doesn’t respect him.
On the latest edition of his Hall of Fame podcast, WWE NXT commentator Booker T gave his take on the AEW star’s comments. Here’s what he said:
“I don’t think Triple H is thinking a whole lot about what MVP is saying. Those guys are in two totally different stratospheres as far as this business goes, as far as positioning.
People are gonna say things, especially when they know they’re not going back. They’re gonna say whatever the hell they wanna say. Especially now, having that platform and that voice to say whatever you wanna say.
Who was it that said, ‘Bosses move in silence?’ That’s what I’m saying. I ain’t got time to be going low. Like Michelle Obama said, ‘I’m gonna go high, man, every time.’
Me personally, I don’t know the beef or anything like that, but to each his own.”
• Medical Update On Tiffany Stratton
WWE was planning to have Tiffany Stratton vs. Jade Cargill vs. Nia Jax for the WWE Women’s Championship at Wrestlepalooza last Saturday, but the match was later moved to the upcoming episode of SmackDown.
Stratton was not medically cleared to compete after a rough landing during her match with Cargill two weeks ago on SmackDown. Fortunately, she is doing well now.
In an interview with Going Ringside, The Buff Barbie gave the following update on herself:
“Physically, I’m okay. Obviously, it was a little bit of a rough landing, however, I was fine. I think it was just more, like, precautionary and kind of just monitoring and seeing if anything was bad about the fall. But for the most part I’m doing good, I’m great.”
The winner of Tiffany Stratton vs. Jade Cargill vs. Nia Jax will battle Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer for the Women’s Crown Jewel Title at WWE Crown Jewel: Perth on October 11 in Australia.
• WWE’s Stance On The Masha Slamovich Situation
TNA star Masha Slamovich is facing serious accusations of domestic violence from her ex-partner, independent wrestler AKIRA. The allegations went public after AKIRA’s manager shared a Dropbox link containing screenshots of alleged text messages and photos that appeared to show injuries to AKIRA.
The situation came to light shortly after Slamovich was ranked in Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s Top 25 Women. TNA has opened an internal investigation into the matter and made immediate changes to their booking plans.
Slamovich has now been removed from this Friday’s Victory Road, where she was set to challenge Ash By Elegance for the Knockouts World Championship.
According to Fightful Select, WWE has also decided to “pause any plans to involve her in the TNA–NXT invasion angle” until the situation is resolved.
Several independent promotions have followed suit. Prestige Wrestling confirmed she is no longer part of Roseland XII in Portland, West Coast Pro pulled her from How The West Was Won, and Top Talent Wrestling announced she won’t be appearing at their September 28 event in Edmonton.
• Jazmyn Nyx’s Replacement In Fatal Influence Revealed
On this week’s episode of NXT, Jazmyn Nyx was attacked backstage after which she was abandoned by other members of The Fatal Influence. The angle was done to write her off TV as her WWE contract is about to expire and she has parted ways with the company.
Nyx’s departure is financially motivated, as the contract offer WWE put on the table didn’t meet her expectations.
Here’s what she said:
“As you knows, there’s been things circulating and I wanna just set the record straight that I am not re-signing with WWE. This was a personal decision I had to make for myself and for my future personally.
The contract that they were offering me for the next three years just wasn’t going to cut it for me financially, and that’s okay.
I just wanted to give a backstory of everything. I was playing professional soccer in Iceland and then I got recruited obviously to WWE, which I left everything out there to come here for this opportunity, which I’m very grateful for.
I was held back a little in the beginning. I had four knee surgeries, so I had to recover and rebuild my knees in order to step in the ring. I broke my nose. That’s why I was wearing the mask. I had other injuries, concussions that kind of kept me out of TV for a little bit.
There’s been a lot of opportunities that I’ve had to turn down and pass up, but now that I am out of the job, I can explore these opportunities more and take them more seriously.
I love my Jazmyn Nyx fans. Thank you guys so much for supporting me and having my back for the past three years. It’s been amazing journey and I will miss you guys. And yeah, that is it for Jazmyn Nyx. So thank you guys for watching and I love you guys so much.”
Jazmyn’s replacement in The Fatal Influence has already been chosen. According to Cory Hays of Bodyslam, Lainey Reid is set to take Nyx’s spot in the faction.
While the exact timing of her joining hasn’t been revealed, she is expected to join the group soon.
Lainey Reid will challenge Sol Ruca for the WWE Women’s Speed Championship at NXT No Mercy this Saturday.
