• “I never got in the business to win matches” – WWE Hall Of Famer On Major WrestleMania Loss
During an episode of his weekly ‘Hall of Fame’ podcast, WCW/WWF Legend Booker T spoke about his WrestleMania XIX encounter with then World Heavyweight Champion Triple H.
‘The Game’ won the match with his Pedigree finisher after 18 minutes and 47 seconds to retain the Title.
Booker eventually ended up winning the championship a little over 3 years later, when he beat Rey Mysterio in the main event of the ‘WWE Great American Bash 2006’ pay-per-view.
Here’s what the 2-time WWE Hall of Famer said on his podcast:
“Hunter and I had a lot of back and forth as far as what was gonna be done in that match.
I did the Harlem Hangover in that match, and Hunter called for it.
I don’t look back negatively on that match at all really. Do I wish I had won that match? That’s the question.
It’s a really tough question because I never got in the business to win matches.”
