Below are some post Backlash 2023 highlights:
– Seth Rollins defeated Omos after hitting a Super Stomp from the top rope.
In a backstage interview after the match, Rollins said the following about his victory over The Nigerian Giant:
“Let me tell you something about that Giant. He proved how big he was out there because it took the biggest stomp of all time to put him to bed.
Eat your heart out Joel Embiid, eat your heart out Draymond Green. You cannot imitate. Very flattering, but I’m still the best.”
Rollins will now compete in the World Heavyweight Championship tournament (tap here to check out the other participants).
– Bianca Belair defeated IYO SKY to retain the RAW Women’s Championship. Bianca has now become the longest reigning Women’s Champion of the modern era, overtaking Becky Lynch’s title reign record.
Below is what she tweeted about it:
“We did it! 399 Days! LongEST Reigning RAW Women’s Champion & LongEST Reigning Women’s Champion of the Modern Era. #ESTofWWE”
On the other hand, IYO tweeted the following about the Puerto Rico crowd cheering her despite being a heel:
“The WWE Universe in Puerto Rico seemed to like me a lot. I hope to see you guys again one day.”
– Cody Rhodes tweeted the following regarding his victory over Brock Lesnar:
Below is what Cody’s wife, former WWE Ring Announcer Brandi Rhodes, tweeted about it:
“My husband is covered in blood and it’s not his. Praise Him 🙏🏾”
– When Carlito returned in 2021 for the Men’s Royal Rumble match and wrestled the next night on RAW, WWE offered him a deal to be a Coach in the company and wrestle occasionally. However, he didn’t take the deal.
According to insider source BoozerRasslin, Carlito might accept WWE’s offer this time after returning at Backlash 2023:
“He just might accept it this time.
Carlito has been offered a contract a lot of times, that’ll give him some TV time and stories + coaching. He kept declining all the time. But I guess it’s time he knows what’s right for him. He can be useful.”
