Randy Orton’s return is near!
In the main event of this week’s RAW, Drew McIntyre laid out Jey Uso with a Claymore Kick, which resulted in Finn Balor & Damian Priest retaining the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship against Jey & Cody Rhodes.
After the match, McIntyre shook hands with Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley and joined forces with The Judgment Day, thus officially turning heel. He is now scheduled to join Judgment Day’s team for WarGames.
After the show went off the air, Cody cut a promo and said he also has friends who he can bring in for backup. This started a chant for Randy Orton, who is rumored to return for Survivor Series 2023 to be in Cody’s team for WarGames.
Multiple sources reported that WWE is thinking about bringing back Orton before Survivor Series, in order to avoid having the Chicago crowd speculate that CM Punk will be the 5th man in Cody’s team.
With that being said, next week’s go-home edition of RAW for Survivor Series looks to be the perfect place for Orton’s return, as RAW is taking place in the same arena where his last match took place (May 20th 2022 episode of SmackDown).
Also, next week’s RAW takes place exactly 18 months (1.5 years) after Orton’s last appearance on WWE TV.
