Below are a couple of top WWE & AEW news stories of the day, featuring The Bloodline and AJ Styles.

• WWE fans can look forward to the debut of a new star following recent signings. Former NJPW star Hikuleo, whose contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling expired in June, reportedly finished up with the promotion around that time.

Speculation had been circulating that he would be joining WWE, and in July, he officially signed with the company.

There’s been buzz that Hikuleo, the half-brother of Tama Tonga and adopted son of WWF Veteran Haku, could be integrated into the ongoing Bloodline storyline. However, PWInsider reports that Hikuleo is currently listed internally on the NXT roster.

This differs from how WWE previously handled other family members connected to The Bloodline, such as Tonga Loa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu, who were sent straight to the main roster.

It’s possible Hikuleo will spend time in NXT to train and adapt to WWE’s style before making his main roster debut.

• AJ Styles has been off WWE programming since losing to Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes in an I Quit match at Clash At The Castle in June.

After that, he participated in a Pro Wrestling NOAH event and joined WWE for its Japan tour in July and Europe tour in August.

There were initial plans for Styles to return on an August episode of SmackDown, but those plans were changed. According to Sean Ross Sapp, Styles is healthy but hasn’t been used on WWE TV.

In the meantime, Styles recently played in a charity softball tournament alongside AEW star Kamille, who is the bodyguard of TBS Women’s Champion Mercedes Mone.

Here’s what Kamille posted:

“Fun day out on the ball field and for a great cause raising money for our Veterans! A great event with super cool people. More pics and videos to come tomorrow, but definitely had me missing my softball days!”
