Former WWE Champion Bray Wyatt was scheduled to face Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania 39. However, due to an unknown illness, the match got canceled and Wyatt missed the biggest show of the year.
Ever since his return to WWE at last year’s Extreme Rules premium live event, Wyatt only wrestled one televised match, where he defeated LA Knight in a Mountain Dew Pitch Black Match at Royal Rumble 2023.
According to Fightful, the illness that Wyatt is actively recovering from was both career and life threatening.
As noted before, Fightful reported that Wyatt could be back in the ring by next month if he’s fully recovered and cleared by the doctors. Ideas for his return have been pitched by Creative in WWE recently.
According to RSN, a lot of people in WWE don’t know what Wyatt is dealing with because of HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) laws:
“There are HIPAA laws in place preventing the dissemination of that information, even corporately.”
During an interview with SK Wrestling, WWF Legend IRS (Mike Rotunda) said the following about his son Bray Wyatt:
“You read a lot of stuff on the internet, which I wouldn’t believe a lot of it or, in my case, any of it. So, Bray Wyatt, I’m sure will return to WWE hopefully shortly and we’ll go from there.”
IRS also gave an update on his brother-in-law Barry Windham, who suffered a heart attack last year:
“Barry’s doing good, actually just did a signing recently, so he’s back up and running and actually doing well.”
