Below are some top WWE news stories of the day, involving Triple H and Cody Rhodes.
• Imperium, consisting of Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser, and Giovanni Vinci, had remained a faction since Vinci’s return at Clash At The Castle 2022. However, multiple losses by Kaiser and Vinci created tension within the group, frustrating The Ring General.
On the April 22, 2024 episode of RAW, Kaiser snapped and attacked Vinci, deciding to focus on a solo career while Gunther continued his ascent in the WWE hierarchy.
In an interview with SPOX about the split, Kaiser explained that he felt the need to break out on his own and envisioned himself in a prominent position shortly after the separation:
“Yes, it was desperately needed. He had more of the team than I did. It kept me down because people want to see more of me in the coming years. I have to concentrate on myself, that’s just how it is in wrestling.
In a team there is always a compromise. You can never do exactly what you want. I was always convinced that I had everything it took to become a big name in the WWE.
Also in view of my father’s legacy, it was important for me to do my own thing. That was immediately apparent. Within a few weeks my stock rose dramatically.”

• During an interview on Gabby AF, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes said he’d love to see a premium live event in Italy:
“I really hope that Italy gets a WWE… we did a show in Italy, a live event. They were, if people saw Scotland, Scotland was outrageous. If people saw France, France was outrageous. I wish people got to see what Italy was like.
I didn’t know what we were walking into; I didn’t even know if we were on TV in Italy. They would be a great place for a PLE. I make no decisions and can’t get anything done, but that was a really cool experience.”
