• Update On Jacob Fatu’s Backlash 2025 Match
Jacob Fatu defeated LA Knight to win the United States Championship at WrestleMania 41.
On last week’s SmackDown, Fatu was challenged by LA Knight and Drew McIntyre. This led to a #1 contender’s match between Knight and McIntyre, where Damian Priest got involved and attacked McIntyre.
In the end, Fatu took all of them out to stand tall.
According to WrestleVotes, WWE is planning a Fatal 4-Way match at Backlash 2025, where Fatu will defend the U.S. Title against Knight, McIntyre, and Priest.
• WWE Roster’s Reaction To Rusev’s Return
On the RAW after WrestleMania 41, Rusev returned to WWE after a 5-year absence and took out Otis and Akira Tozawa.
According to a report from PWInsider, Rusev’s return wasn’t just a hit with the audience—it was warmly received backstage as well. There was a “warm reaction” among WWE talent to having the former United States Champion back, adding that “multiple WWE superstars have expressed an interest in working with Rusev down the line.”
On this week’s RAW, a vignette aired for Rusev, where he said that he fell into the abyss after leaving WWE. Rusev said he will no longer fight for a woman that isn’t his, or a flag that doesn’t want him. He will hunt down those who waste their talents, so he can fix them the way he fixed himself.
Rusev’s first match since his return will take place on next week’s RAW, where he will face Otis.
• Roman Reigns’ Next PLE Appearance Revealed
In the main event of WrestleMania 41 – Night 1, Paul Heyman turned on both Roman Reigns and CM Punk, and joined forces with Seth Rollins. Rollins pinned Reigns to win the match.
On RAW after WrestleMania, Bron Breakker joined forces with Rollins and Heyman, and they destroyed Reigns and Punk.
According to WrestleVotes, Reigns won’t be a part of Backlash on May 10, but he will work Money In The Bank on June 7, which will take place at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.
