• Jake Roberts Admits Using Steroids In WWF, Explains His Reason

WWF Legend Jake Roberts was featured on the 1999 documentary ‘Beyond The Mat’, where his infamous drug use was featured for the first time, including him smoking crack and snorting cocaine.

On the new episode of his weekly ‘The Snake Pit’ podcast, Jake revealed that he also used anabolic steroids back in the day, when he wrestled for Vince McMahon’s World Wrestling Federation.

Here’s what Roberts had to say about his steroid use:

“I did. I went on it for a short period, especially after my neck surgery because I wanted to heal quicker, but in the WWF at the time we were working so hard, 7 days a week, twice on Saturday, twice on Sunday. You needed a little bit of steroids to help with the healing process.

Now some guys took that and went completely off the charts with it, but that was their choice and you know, so many of those guys are gone now and I’m sure that had something to do with it, whether that was Randy [Savage] or The Road Warriors or Mr. Perfect, right on down the line, man.”

Roberts is currently working as a Manager for Tony Khan’s All Elite Wrestling since 2019.
