1. Eric Bischoff Talks About His Time As A Karate Fighter
During a recent appearance on WZ Radio, Eric Bischoff talked about his new WWE DVD: “Eric Bischoff: Sports Entertainment’s Most Controversial Figure”. The documentary also features Eric’s early life as a Karate fighter. Below is what he said about it:
“I was an amateur. I had a couple fights and later on I got paid. I was an amateur fighter. I was fighting for the love of it. There was no money in it as I said in the DVD. It’s one of the reasons I quit pursuing martial arts. Even at that time, the late 70s or early 80s, in those days before the UFC it was called the PKA (Professional Karate Association). I fought in the PKA. In fact there is a clip from ESPN in a fight that I participated in on the DVD. Even fighters that were far more skilled than I was and world rated really weren’t making very much money. If at all at that time. It’s one of the reasons I transitioned out of martial arts and wound up in wrestling. I loved doing it. It was a passion for me for many years but at the end of the day you’ve got to pick your family.”
