– TBS Women’s Champion Mercedes Moné introduced a video showcasing her AEW highlights from 2024. Turning her focus to Wrestle Dynasty, Moné discussed her upcoming NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship match against Mina Shirakawa and issued a warning that she has her sights set on Shirakawa’s RevPro Women’s Championship as well.

– Jay White def. Roderick Strong and Swerve Strickland in a Triple Threat Match to become the first entrant in next week’s Casino Gauntlet Match

Ricochet interfered in the match and hit Strickland with a pair of scissors. Ricochet continued attacking Strickland and Prince Nana until Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly and Strong made the save. Ricochet, who is a full-blown heel now, left Strickland bleeding.

– Jeff Jarrett came out with his wrestling boots in his hand. He wished Asheville a “Slappy New Year” and shared that he had spent the past few days searching for the right words to express himself. He reflected on his career, expressing gratitude for his accomplishments while contemplating its eventual conclusion. Jarrett recounted how his grandmother’s decision to take a second job selling professional wrestling tickets profoundly altered the trajectory of their family and his father’s life, describing it as a high-risk, high-reward move. He also recalled dropping out of high school to pursue a career in professional wrestling and launching what would later become TNA Wrestling. Despite his reflections on the past, Jarrett made it clear that he was not finished with his career. He announced that he had signed his final professional wrestling contract with AEW and declared his intent to win championship gold, aiming to become the AEW World Champion.
