Jey Uso, one of WWE’s top stars and the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble winner, has made a candid admission about his in-ring abilities, acknowledging that there are many wrestlers he considers more skilled than himself.
In a recent interview on the RAW Recap podcast, the “Yeet Master” reflected on his rise to the top of WWE and addressed criticism about his wrestling style, while emphasizing the unique position he holds in the company despite not being the most technically proficient.
During the interview, Jey Uso responded to detractors who have criticized his in-ring performances, particularly as he prepares to challenge World Heavyweight Champion Gunther at WrestleMania 41.
“They gonna pick me apart right now because I’m in this position. ‘Oh, he can’t do this. He got 3 moves.’ On some real stuff and if we really want to be honest, though, there’s a whole bunch of dope wrestlers way better than me, but they’re not at the top. I am,” Jey Uso said.
He further elaborated, “They got 20 moves, and y’all can do all that, but they not in my position. You know what I’m saying? Because it’s a different game, Uce.” Uso’s comments highlight his self-awareness about his technical limitations while underscoring the intangible qualities—like fan connection and charisma—that have propelled him to the main event scene.
Despite this, Jey Uso remains confident, noting on the podcast that he’s still learning and plans to “shock the world again” at WrestleMania 41.
The admission comes at a time when Uso has faced scrutiny for recent in-ring botches, including a mistimed dive on the March 17 episode of RAW in Brussels, Belgium, and a slip during a tag team match on the March 24 episode in Glasgow, Scotland.
These mistakes led to online criticism, with some fans questioning his readiness for a World Title match against a dominant champion like Gunther, who has defeated Jey Uso in three previous encounters.
Jimmy Uso even addressed the botches backstage on the March 24th RAW, warning Jey that he needed to reclaim his “Right Hand Man Jey” persona to have any chance against Gunther, stating that the current version of Jey “became a joke” after the mishaps.
