Jim Ross Not Impressed With Former World Champion’s Recent Performances

Jim Ross

During a recent edition of “The Ross Report” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross discussed Hell In A Cell 2017 PPV with ProWrestling.net’s Jason Powell. During the podcast, JR noted that he isn’t impressed with what former World Heavyweight Champion Dolph Ziggler has been doing as of late:

“Last thing on Hell in a Cell, I was expecting more from Roode and Ziggler. And I really like both those guys a lot. I think Ziggler’s train has stopped at the station several times and he’s not been able to get on it and I don’t know why. I don’t know how many more times the train’s gonna stop at his station, but man it’s time to figure out something. Because he’s really good and he’s obviously reliable. He’s been there forever. They kind of got a book on this guy. And of course Bobby Roode….it’s same thing. Bobby Roode needs to kind of get this thing rolling. He had a nice little run there in NXT after coming in from Impact. So now Bobby knows that he’s a veteran. He ain’t no younger either.”

JR also noted how many fans were disappointed with the SmackDown Women’s Championship match between Charlotte Flair & Natalya, but said that he liked the match and explained why:

“I read that some people were very disappointed with the fact that the Natalya-Charlotte match ended up in a disqualification. And for whatever reason I watched that match very intently. I enjoyed it totally. I thought it was one of the best matches of the entire night. I loved the story. I loved Natalya isolating the leg. I loved the way Charlotte sold it. It was so simple. It worked. It brought me in. They had me. And then the DQ came, I didn’t feel really uncomfortable about that. I thought it was okay.”

On the other hand, Powell wasn’t impressed with the match and gave his opinion on it:

“I did only because I didn’t feel like it was this act of desperation by Natalya to save her title. It just kind of felt lazy. I thought there was something kind of missing . The match was fine but the actual finish was… I thought they could have made it seem like Natalya was a little more desperate than she seemed.”
