On an episode of his weekly ‘Grilling JR’ podcast, former WWF/WWE play-by-play commentator Jim Ross said that The Big Show (Paul Wight) is one of the worst-booked WWE Superstars of all time in his opinion.

Here’s what the 2007 WWE Hall of Famer said:

“You can’t overexpose an attraction because guess what? They cease being an attraction. They’re not new, they’re not fresh, they’re not different, they’re not eye-opening. I just think that Big Show was one of the most ill-booked talents, on that level, that we ever had.”

In 2021, during an interview with Inside The Ropes, The Big Show revealed that his record amount of heel & babyface turns during his 1999-2021 WWF/WWE run was super frustrating to him.

Here’s what the former WWF Champion had to say:

“I think it’s super frustrating. One of the things that turning did is made it hard for me to develop a consistent identity, you know, to sell merch.

Merchandise is a huge part of our industry and you either have to have a solid run as a really dominant heel where people want to buy your stuff because you’re the anti-hero and they like it, or you need to have a solid run as a babyface where they love your stuff and everybody wants to buy it.

When you’re flip-flopping, a lot of times you’re pissing people off, you’re constantly dividing your audience.”
