• WWF Legend Says Seth Rollins Doesn’t Have The Drawing Power Of Shawn Michaels

On a recent episode of his podcast, WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle called RAW Superstar Seth Rollins ‘the next Shawn Michaels’.

Below is what the Olympic Gold Medalist said:

“You know what? It’s not too much of a leap to say that he is the next Shawn Michaels. I believe he will be eventually. He is not there yet because Shawn put in a lot more years. So you know, 30-something years.”

WWF Legend Jim Cornette had the following to say about this comparison on his own podcast:

“I think Kurt Angle is making the comparison because they resemble each other, in terms of, they were the guy in WWE at their individual times that was long, lean, and athletic.

I don’t know that you can compare Seth with Shawn Michaels in terms of, you know, drawing ability and box office.

I mean, Seth is good. But Michaels, the one thing you have to do about the obnoxious little prick that he was, he was nearly the best in the business. Especially at the WWF style of the 90s.”

Seth Rollins came to NXT in June 2012 and made it to the WWE main roster by November 2012, when he debuted as a member of The Shield, alongside fellow NXT Wrestlers (at that time) Roman Reigns & Dean Ambrose.

‘The Heartbreak Kid’ Shawn Michaels wrestled for the World Wrestling Federation from 1988 until 1998 and again (for the renamed WWE) from 2002 till he officially retired in 2010.

The Showstopper eventually came out of retirement for one match on November 2, 2018 at the WWE Crown Jewel pay-per-view in Saudi Arabia.
