The last week of John Cena’s career as a professional wrestler is officially underway. In one week from today, The GOAT will step inside the ring at Saturday Night’s Main Event for the final time in his retirement match against GUNTHER.
Cena recently appeared on the Joe Rogan Experience and explained why he thinks fans will quickly move on. He said that WWE will enter WrestleMania season just a couple of weeks after his retirement, so fans will be focused on that instead
“I’m gonna retire on the 13th, they will be moved on by the Royal Rumble, and that is real facts, I will be forgotten. That is not a plea to sympathy of like ‘always remember me.’ By the Royal Rumble, the road to WrestleMania, nobody gives a f**k, ‘cause they’re focusing on what the show is. That’s like 3 weeks after I retire, 3 weeks after I retire, nobody’s going to give a f**k.”
The GOAT’s retirement tour has been packed with major moments. He finished as runner up in the Royal Rumble, shockingly turned heel to align with The Rock at Elimination Chamber and won the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania to become a 17-time World Champion.
He recently captured the Intercontinental Championship to become a Grand Slam Champion before dropping it back to “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio at Survivor Series.

Brie Bella stepped away from full-time competition in 2016, briefly returned in 2018, and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame with Nikki as part of the Class of 2020. Her most recent in-ring appearance was the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble.
During an interview on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Bryan Danielson was asked about the possibility of his wife Brie returning to the ring. He made it clear that she isn’t interested in a solo comeback.
“Yeah, only in certain contexts. She doesn’t want to come back and do a singles run or anything like that. If she comes back, she would want to do it with Nicole.”
Nikki Bella has also said that she hopes to end her career alongside her sister, a sentiment Brie shares. However, a potential return has been complicated by Bryan’s role in AEW, which Brie has previously referred to as a “roadblock” for her making her way back to WWE.
