• John Cena Reveals The Only Idea He Gave WWE During His Retirement Tour
John Cena’s retirement tour ends tonight at Saturday Night’s Main Event, where he will battle Gunther. During his interview on the Insight podcast, Cena revealed that the only idea he gave WWE during his retirement tour was to feature NXT wrestlers on his final night as an in-ring performer.
Here’s what the 17-time World Champion said:
“The only thing I wanted to do, the only idea I gave was about Saturday Night’s Main Event on the 13th saying it should not be a John Cena show.
I have an idea of how I want to go out, and how I want to go out is not by folks remembering what I did. I want a chance to perform and do some good. You want to sprinkle in moments and memories to understand and make that last match more meaningful? Fine, but let’s use the rest of our two hours and show the future of the business.
That’s how I want to go out because when I came in, there was a gold medalist who’s like, ‘I’ll work with the kid.’ To be on a sold out show in Chicago and hear that noise, I was already hooked.
I want to give NXT kids a chance to be there, and I want to give major WWE Superstars a chance to be on the card. It’s a limited thing. It’s not WrestleMania. It’s only limited spots, but that’s how I want to go out.”

John Cena’s retirement tour ends tonight at Saturday Night’s Main Event, where he will battle GUNTHER. Cena’s father wrote the following:
“Say it ain’t so Joe. It is so, 12/13 Washington, Dc the Last Time is Now. SNME it’s the last time we can see him. My son’s final match with the WWE. 20 plus years comes to an end. Thanks for the memories and all that you have done for everyone. So proud my son. Your time is now.”
John Cena’s father recently stirred debate when he weighed in on who his son’s final opponent should be. He said that GUNTHER wouldn’t be a wise choice as The Ring General doesn’t need the rub.
He also questioned the idea of passing the torch on the way out, noting that Cena had already done so with Cody Rhodes by defeating him for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41 and later dropping the title back to The American Nightmare at SummerSlam.
He went on to suggest other potential opponents for The GOAT’s final match, naming Kurt Angle as his top choice, followed by Edge (Adam Copeland), Chris Jericho and even a wildcard pick of JBL.
Appearing on the Joe Rogan Experience, Cena addressed his father’s comments and said that he can say some messed up stuff at times.
“There’s some sh*t he’ll say that’s all f**ked up. He said some sh*t yesterday that like, ‘I don’t think John’s last opponent should be…’ and people listen to him because he’s a wrestling fan – and I want to call my dad and be like, ‘What the f**k are you doing?’
But he’s doing what he does. This is him. This is the John Cena I love.”

2-Time WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has delivered a scathing response to Nexus member David Otunga’s recent claims that he was bullied by John Cena 15 years ago. Speaking on his podcast, Booker T dismissed the entire premise of the complaint, stating that the wrestling business is not for those who complain about being unfairly treated by peers.
Booker T used harsh words for Otunga, saying: “When I hear a grown man talk about being bullied… he’s a punk a$$.” He went on to assert that no one has ever bullied him in wrestling, even when others tried to “test” him.
The NXT commentator presented the ordeal as an old-school test of a performer’s resolve. He suggested that if a wrestler can’t handle the pressure and criticism, they don’t belong in the industry, telling those who “come crying” to “take your a$$ home.”
Otunga’s claims stemmed from a botched rope spot during a 2010 WWE tour in Paris. Otunga alleges that Cena was at fault for selling the move too early.
According to Otunga, Cena then spent the rest of the match stiffing him and cursing, followed by a humiliating scolding in front of the entire locker room backstage.
Otunga said the incident caused him to question his entire future with WWE, though he waited 15 years to share his account.
