WWE is going to India after almost 6 years, to do their Live Event titled “WWE Superstar Spectacle” on September 8th.

This event will feature the second match of the year for WWE Legend John Cena.

WWE India’s Instagram page has now announced that Cena will team up with RAW’s World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins to take on Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci of Imperium in a tag team match. This will be the main event of the show.

Below is the updated match-card for WWE Superstar Spectacle:

– John Cena & World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins vs. Imperium (Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci)

Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship Match: Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn (c) vs. Indus Sher (Veer Mahaan & Sanga) (with Jinder Mahal)

Before Cena wrestles in India, he will appear on the September 1st episode of SmackDown.

During an interview with Busted Open Radio in May, Cena said he wishes he could still wrestle a full-time schedule in WWE today, but at the age of 46 and doing this for over two decades, his body can’t handle it anymore.

He also said that what he has left in the tank is what you saw at WrestleMania 39.

Cena tweeted the following about visiting India:

“Cannot wait to reunite with the WWE family live on SmackDown! Especially excited to meet the WWE Universe in India and wrestle for the FIRST TIME EVER in India! The time is NOW…. C U all VERY soon!!!”

While WWE Superstar Spectacle won’t air LIVE on the WWE Network / Peacock, it will likely be aired on TV in India, as they did that in 2021 as well, for the first ever edition of Superstar Spectacle (which was filmed in the US at the WWE ThunderDome).
