As we all know, Samoa Joe made his NXT debut at Takeover: Unstoppable & has also made his in-ring NXT debut at last night’s TV tapings. Samoa Joe was with TNA Wrestling for 10 years, but WWE doesn’t acknowledge TNA as usual.
TNA announcer Josh Mathews posted the following on twitter regarding this:
How did the @WWENXT announcers know who @SamoaJoe was if we are #obscurity in their world? Sick of hypocrisy.
It should be noted that WWE didn’t give a new gimmick to Samoa Joe, and did not change his ring name either. WWE never acknowledges TNA because TNA is just another minor league for them.
During the Road to WrestleMania 31, WWE didn’t acknowledge Sting’s TNA career and referred his time between WCW & WWE simply as a hiatus from Pro-Wrestling.
