• Old School WWF Tag Team Veteran Celebrates His Birthday

Old School ECW/WWF Tag Team Veteran Bubba Ray Dudley (Real name: Mark LoMonaco) celebrates his 49th birthday today.

In early 1996, he joined the famous faction “The Dudley Boyz” in Paul Heyman’s Extreme Championship Wrestling and was soon joined by his (kayfabe) half-brother, D-Von Dudley, with whom Buh Buh Ray formed a Tag Team, that eventually surpassed the stable and ultimately became one of the most famous Tag Teams in professional wrestling history.

In 1999, they jumped ship to the World Wrestling Federation and stayed until 2005, after which they joined Total Nonstop Action! (now known as iMPACT Wrestling).

The Dudley Boyz won pretty much all major World Tag Team Championships that are out there including the titles of the World Wrestling Federation, Extreme Championship Wrestling, World Championship Wrestling (in the WWF during the Invasion storyline), the National Wrestling Alliance (in TNA), Total Nonstop Action! and New Japan Pro Wrestling.

In 2012, he reinvented himself by turning into a singles wrestler, adapting the character of “Bully Ray”.

• King Corbin Reveals Why The Locker Room Always Makes Fun Of Randy Orton

While speaking to Busted Open Radio, WWE SmackDown wrestler King Corbin discussed the art of worked punches.

Corbin spoke about his own worked punches and said:

“In NXT it was a thing, ‘would you work with Randy Orton that way?’ We always make fun of Randy because he doesn’t want anyone to hurt him. In NXT, if you did something, it was ‘would you do that to Randy Orton? Would you do that to John Cena?’

I want those guys beating on Vince’s door and going, ‘I want to work with this kid because he looks like he’s murdering people and he’s not, he’s taking care of people.’ The best are the best at that.

Look at Undertaker and the things that he’s done. His punches look like he’s killing people, and guys aren’t picking their teeth up off the mat. That’s important. I definitely want my work to be at the top.

I’ll get tweets all the time, ‘Corbin is unsafe, he killed that dude, did you see how hard he hit him?’ Got you. I take pride in that. My punches are one of those things that I take a lot of pride in. I don’t throw a jab, because if I throw a jab, it’s going to dent somebody’s nose. I threw 10,000 jabs when I was doing Golden Gloves, they are made to hurt people and are harder to control, so I don’t throw them.”

Corbin concluded by saying that he wants to reach the level of Big Boss Man’s jab one day, as he did them perfectly while making sure his opponents were safe.
