• Kurt Angle Reveals Who He Feels Is The Best Heel In The Business

During an episode of his weekly ‘The Kurt Angle Show’ podcast, our Olympic Hero spoke about his ‘December 2002 – March 2003’ heel run as WWE Champion with legendary WCW/ECW/WWF heel manager Paul Heyman in his corner.

The 2017 WWE Hall of Famer went as far as calling Heyman ‘the best heel in the business’.

Here’s what Kurt Angle said:

“I thought it was a great idea. It’s not that I needed Paul (Heyman) to speak for me, but he draws a lot of heat.

At this particular time, I was kind of a babyface, so having Paul on my side would draw a little bit more heat for me.

The best heel in the business. He draws a lot of heat. He’s the best promo guy I’ve ever been around.

When you’re around him you learn a lot, so I was really happy to have Paul as my manager.”

Paul Heyman worked as a heel manager for pretty much all of the big promotions from back in the day, including the World Wrestling Federation / WWE (2001-2006 & 2012-now), Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling (1988-1993), Championship Wrestling from Florida (1987), CWA Memphis Wrestling, American Wrestling Association, … among several others.

He’s most famously remembered for his time with Extreme Championship Wrestling, a company he eventually took over from Tod Gordon as the promoter.
