• Kurt Angle Shuts Down Ridiculous Rumor

Some ridiculous rumors have popped up online that Kurt Angle once tried to take over TNA creative back in the day, during his 2006-2016 stint in Dixie Carter’s Total Nonstop Action! (now known as IMPACT Wrestling).

On a recent episode of his weekly ‘The Kurt Angle Show’ podcast, our Olympic Hero addressed this rumor and confirmed that it was completely untrue and he never had any intentions to do something like that.

Here’s what Kurt had to say:

“No, I could tell you this, there are rumors sometimes and there’s the truth. That’s a complete rumor. I didn’t even know about that. Vince (Russo) and I had no intention of taking anything from anybody. Maybe Vince did, I don’t know.

I don’t know if Vince did this, I don’t think he did. He probably said, ‘hey, Kurt and I want to take over Dixie, and we want to take Jeff out. Vince Russo got along with Jeff Jarrett too. So, I just don’t see how that came to be.”

Vince Russo was a writer and head of creative for most of his 2002-2011 TNA run behind the scenes.
